He is survived by: his parents, Homer Richard Callahan, Sr. and Elsie Callahan (Bittle); his children, Christina Moore (Justin) of Louisburg and Richard Callahan, Sr. (Teressa) of Spring Hope; the mother of his children Candi Callahan of Castalia; his grandchildren, Adeline Moore of Louisburg and Richard Callahan, Jr. of Spring Hope; his sisters, Patti Conner (Chuck) of Rockingham and Diane Griffin of Foxfire Village; his niece Meagan Griffin; and his nephews, Chandler Conner and Shane Spencer.
