She was predeceased by: her parents, Eugene H. Matthews and Lessie Rackley Matthews; and her husband Lonnie Howard Thomas. She is survived by: her sons, Michael Thomas (Lori) of Rocky Mount, Kenneth Thomas (Ellen) of Castalia, Tony Thomas (Theresa) of Red Oak and Gerald Thomas (Tambre) of Rocky Mount; her grandchildren, Taylor Thomas (Casey), Nicole Allen (David), Cameron Harper (Blake), Caleb Thomas (Jordan), Jordan Thomas, Jonathan Thomas, Terri Thomas and Holland Joyner (Trevor); her great grandchildren, Anna Blake Harper, Gaston Harper, Waylon Harper, Finley Thomas, Hudson Allen and Nash Joyner; her siblings, Ray Matthews (Susan) and Pat Matthews Badary; and her close friend Valerie Parks.
