It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph Fredrick Cowen of Cashiers, North Carolina, who passed away on August 27, 2024, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Joseph Fredrick has departed this earthly realm, his legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May his spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
He was predeceased by: his siblings, William Cowen, Elizabeth Zorn, Daniel Cowen, Edward Cowen, Spurgeon Cowen and Mary Emma Bassett.
He is survived by: his brother Kenneth Cowen of Elijay, Georgia.; his spouse Tess Cowen (Kirk); and his children, Joan Marie Cowen Foley and Gregory Allen Cowen. He is also survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren.
