She was predeceased by: her parents, Oliver R. Polk and Maude Miller Polk; her husband Max Donald Sanders; her sons, Anthony "Tony" Wright Sanders and Daniel "Danny" Sanders; and her siblings, Gladys Polk and Charles Polk.
She is survived by: her daughter Joni L. Sanders of Spartanburg, SC; her daughter-in-law Diane Hamrick Sanders of Casar; her brothers, Ralph Polk of Cooleemee and Gene Polk of West Jefferson; her grandchildren, Adam Wright Sanders (Rhea), Brooke LeAnne Sanders, Noelle Sanders Grubbs (Jon) and Kayla Sanders; her great grandchildren, Slade Cook, Kaiya Mancinelli, Max Sanders, Amos Sanders and Frankie Violet Grubbs; and her close friend Joan Hauser of Aneheim, California..
