He is survived by: his daughter Marie Pruett of Ellenboro; his siblings, David Pruett of Casar, Billy Pruett of Shelby and Janie Beatty (A. B.) of Casar; and his grandchildren, D. J. Thornton, Brooklyn Thornton, Courtney Thornton, Jennifer Jenkins, Ryleigh Jenkins and Mason Jenkins.
