He was predeceased by: his parents, John Zebbie Chapman and Viola Earl Chapman; and his brothers, Ray Chapman, Harold Chapman, Ralph Chapman and Jimmy Chapman.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Carico Chapman; his children, Robert Chapman (Renee) of Sherrills Ford, Cecil Smith (Amy) of Lawndale, Rodney Smith of Casar and Tracy Barrett (David) of Casar; his siblings, Reid Chapman (Linda) of Casar, Maggie Burns of Casar, Helen Canipe of Casar and Joyce Jones of Bostic; his grandchildren, Josh Barrett, Morgan Neill, Daniel Smith, Dustin Smith (Amber), Kayla Carpenter (Spencer), Alex Chapman (Jeffrey Jefferson), Andy Chapman, Destiny Smith and Savannah Smith; and his great grandchildren, Payton Pennington, Ayden Barrett, Trey Neill and Carson Neill.
