He was predeceased by: his mother Mary Dee Smith; his stepfather Lee Toy Smith; his grandparents, Roscoe and Dessie Smith; his son-in-law Keith McDaniel; and his siblings, David Smith and Patsy Neal.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Hamby Smith; his daughters, Danielle McDaniel of Drexel and Danette Crotts (Matt) of Belwood; his siblings, Steve Smith of Hickory and Renee Neal (Billy) of Hickory; his grandchildren, Samantha Seabock (Corey), Brittany Job and Cait'Lynn Crotts; and his great grandchildren, Connor and Charlotte Seabock.
