He was predeceased by: his father Francis Fleming Murphy; and his sibling Thomas. He is survived by: his siblings, Robert and Barbara; his wife Margot Murphy of Littleton; his daughters, Kathleen (Forrest Van Keuren) of Carolina Beach, NC and Christine (Peter Zimmermann) of Lakewood, CO; his granddaughters, Madison (Ellison Parham) of Colorado Springs, CO and Emma Zimmermann of Lakewood, CO; and his great grandchild Jude Murphy Parham of Colorado Springs, CO..

If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Colonel Murphy's memory to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
