It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Matthews (Cary, North Carolina), who passed away on October 24, 2022, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Ralph Matthews and Claudia Young Matthews; and his grandson Zack Matthews. He is survived by: his wife Glennie Adams Matthews; his sons, Rick Matthews (Sylvia) of Fuquay-Varina and Gary Matthews (Kim) of Fuquay-Varina; his sisters, Runell Smith of Dunn and Glenda Wimberly (Bud) of Lillington; his grandsons, Brett Matthews (Amanda) of Lillington and Blake Matthews of Raleigh; and his great grandchild Blakely Matthews of Lillington.
Flowers are appreciated or memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Family Life Center Debt Retirement Fund in Pete's memory.
