It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of William Hooker Jones (Cary, North Carolina), who passed away on April 13, 2020, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Selby Jones II and Nancy Lee Jones (Hooker); his sister Lee Midyette; his brother-in-law Colonel Jack Midyette of Washington, NC; and also, Dr. Neal and Jean Trueblood.
He is survived by: his friend Duke; his wife Jeannie Trueblood Jones; his children, William Samuel Jones (Ashley Gregory) of Beaufort, NC and Lila Marsh Hodgdon (Donald); his brother Sam Jones III (Cindy) of Goldsboro, NC; and his brother-in-law Phillip Trueblood (Jean) of Belhaven, NC. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In light of Covid-19 gathering restrictions, there will not be a formal visitation, though the family welcomes informal "celebration of life gatherings" with small friend groups and extended family at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society, the Ronald McDonald House of the Carolinas, or the Growing in Love fund at Hayes Barton United Methodist Church.
