It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Walter Gerard Rogers in Cary, North Carolina, who passed away on March 9, 2025, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Rogers and Lydia Rogers. He is survived by: his wife Judy; his daughter Katie Rogers McCargo; his son-in-law Jon of Leland, NC; his son John; his daughter-in-law Trina; his grandchildren, Liza, Cate and James of Carrboro; and his sisters, Frances (Gary Upchurch) of Greensboro and Meg (John Taylor) of Raleigh.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Raleigh or to Peterson House (petersonhousenc.org) where Gerry's son, John, is the pastor.
