He was predeceased by: his parents, William Jamie Mitchell and Bernice Beddingfield Mitchell of Bunn, NC.; his sons, James Taylor Mitchell, Jess Crouser Mitchell and Samuel Joseph Guyer Mitchell; and his siblings, Waylon Mitchell, David, Bobby Mitchell and Jean Bilderback.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Crouser Mitchell; his son Thomas Wayne Mitchell, Jr. (Jerry); his grandson Michael; his son Sidney Beddingfield Mitchell (Renee); his granddaughters, Victoria and Caroline; and his brother Russell Gray Mitchell (Anne). He is also survived by many nephews, nieces and cousins.
