With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Terry Lee Hackney of Cary, North Carolina, born in Carrboro, North Carolina, who passed away on July 22, 2024 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Troy L. Hackney and Emma Potts Hackney; and his siblings, Alvin and Jeanette Hackney Glosson. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Bruton Hackney; his sons, Terry Paul Hackney (Cythian Matthews) and Michael Bruton Hackney (Renee Harding Hackney) of Petersburg, TN; his great grandchildren, Carter, Gunner Jackson of Franklin, TN, Hudson and Tanner Hill of Port St; his brother Leon Hackney (Judy) of Pittsboro, NC; and his nieces and nephews, Yorkie and Max.
