He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Elman; his sons, Michael Robert Hoppin, Melissa Rios Hoppin of Phoenix, AZ, Christopher Matthew Hoppin and Alice Powell of Chapel Hill; his stepchildren, Joshua Rusenko, Sophia Mellein of Oakland, CA and Rayna Rusenko of Tokyo; his granddaughter Emma June Hoppin; his daughter-in-law Kimberly Paige Stein Hoppin; and his sisters, Sandra Stigant Storm, Richard Storm of Indian Land, SC and Cynthia June Shuler.
