It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Brian Van Metre of Cary, North Carolina, who passed away on March 19, 2022, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his mother Madeleine McCormick. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Doherty Van Metre; and his children, Michael, Chris (Rose), Kevin (Kim) and Michelle Pittelli (Chris). He is also survived by seven grandchildren, one great grandchild, several granddogs and great granddogs.

In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions may be donated to the V Foundation, Victory over Cancer, an organization that formerly raised funds through the Jimmy V Golf classic.
