She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul O. Michael and Ruby E. Michael; and her siblings, John Michael and Janice Bondy. She is survived by: her husband Rodney D. Shafer; her children, Richard Shafer (Elizabeth) of Wilmington, NC, Randall Shafer (Sherry) of Winterville, NC and Robin Morgan (Doug) of Apex, NC; her grandchildren, Thomas Shafer (Martha), Daniel Shafer (Brenda), Jonathan Morgan, Andrew Shafer and Joseph Morgan; and her great grandchildren, Aurora Shafer, Jesse Shafer and Luke Shafer.
