She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Smith and Josephine Currier Smith; her husband Harry M. Gilbert; her stepchildren, Linda G. Renshaw and Thomas F. Gilbert; and her siblings, Andrew R. Smith, Samuel Smith, Edward R. Daley and Frances S. Cleaves.
She is survived by: her daughters, Carol G. Richardson of Raleigh and Linda M. King of Salem, OR; and her daughter-in-law Joanne Gilbert of Raleigh. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
