With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mark Richard Hefner of Cary, North Carolina, born in Savannah, Georgia, who passed away on September 2, 2023 at the age of 64. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his father Ira D. Hefner, Jr.; and his brother Ira D. Hefner, III. He is survived by: his mother Barbara Hefner; his wife Carolyn Mathews Hefner; his children, Cory Hefner (Ellen), Scott Hefner (Sarah) and Ryan Hefner (Emma); his grandchildren, Dawson, Asa, Merrick and Nora; and his siblings, Amy Hefner-Samson and Brad Hefner (Sharlene). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
