She was predeceased by: her brother Dallas L. Alford III; and her brother-in-law Homer Duncan, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Charley Rivenbark III of Rock Hill, SC and Ginger Carpenter (Terry) of Cary; her grandchildren, Charles Rivenbark IV, Griffen, Noah Robertson and Kelsey Carpenter; and her siblings, Ben Alford (Marcia) and Cathy Duncan. She is also survived by cousins, as well as nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Margarette was an integral part of Zoom gatherings, remaining connected with her church family even in challenging times.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Millbrook United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
