He was predeceased by: his son Robert Teal Davis; and his parents, Luther Davis and Ernestine Davis Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Cecilia Shaw; his sons, Cecil Davis (Christy) of Winston Salem and Brian Davis (Sherry) of Suwanee, GA.; and his siblings, Carolyn Bryant, Kenneth Davis, Donald Davis, Norma Dunn, Eric Davis, Marshall Davis and Harold Davis.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Transitions Life Care Hospice Home 200 Hospice Circle Raleigh NC.
