She was predeceased by: her parents, William Raymond Nicholas and Ethel Bernice Boyer Nicholas; her brother William Nicholas, Jr.; and her brother-in-law Ward McDonald. She is survived by: her children, Darby Godfrey of Georgetown, Jay Tobin of Raleigh, Jill Kelso (David) of Raleigh and Sam Tobin (Doris) of Cary; her grandchildren, Ashley Godfrey, Jason Godfrey, Ryan Godfrey, Mary Stuart Tolson (Holden), Georgia Kelso, Reid Tobin, Erin Tobin, Mary Callan Kelso and Hank Kelso; her great grandchildren, Noah Godfrey, Haven Godfrey, Sawyer Tolson and Wylie Tolson; her sisters, Rosie Hale McDonald and Dorothy Pigg (Dwaine); and her sister-in-law Linda Nicholas. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and their spouses, children and grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 6th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Brown-Wynne Funeral Home (200 SE Maynard Rd, Cary, NC 27511). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 7th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church (804 High House Rd, Cary, NC 27513).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Cary, North Carolina.
