She was predeceased by: her parents, T. Clyde Cooper and Thelma S. Cooper; and her sister Mary Clyde Massey. She is survived by: her husband W. Ralph Strother of Raleigh; her children, William R. "Bill" Strother, Jr. (Silvia) of Charlotte, Carol S. Petrea (H. A. "Rusty") and Harriet J. Schram (Henry M. "Hank") of Crownsville, MD; and her grandchildren, Laura, Suzanne, Meredith, Caroline, Emily, Raymond, Rafael and Benjamin. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
