He is survived by: his wife Sandra of Cary; his son John Thomas Byrum IV (Michele) of Raleigh; his granddaughters, Alyssa of Raleigh and Brittany Byrum of Raleigh; his stepfather William C. Young of Raleigh; his sister Beverly Byrum of Raleigh; and his sister-in-law Bonnie Cummings (Jimmy) of Raleigh. He is also survived by several nephews and great nephews.
