She was predeceased by: her parents, Jess Charles Crouser and Ava Taylor Guyer; her husband Thomas Wayne Mitchell of Roseboro, NC; her sons, James Taylor Mitchell, Jess Crouser Mitchell and Samuel Joseph Guyer Mitchell; and her siblings, Jess Charles Crouser, Jr. and Mary Metcalfe Kaylor.

She is survived by: her son Thomas Wayne Mitchell, Jr. (Jerry); her grandsons, Cy and Michael; her son Sidney Beddingfield Mitchell (Renee); her granddaughters, Victoria and Caroline; her nieces, Ava Suzanne Terrell and Elizabeth Metcalfe; and her nephew Charles Metcalfe.
