He was predeceased by: his parents, Garnett Franklin Sherrer and Frances Combs Sherrer; his wife Rita Batson Sherrer; his son Brian Allen Sherrer; and his siblings, Cecil Sherrer, Larry Sherrer, Douglas Sherrer, Cornelia Davis (Oscar), Ola Sherrer and Norma Kicklighter (Jasper).
He is survived by: his son Randy Sherrer (Kathy) of Raleigh, NC; his grandchildren, Katrina Kirschner (Joe), Jason Sherrer, James Sherrer, Eric Sherrer and Mark Sherrer (Lindsey); and his great grandchildren, Taylor Kirschner, Bryson Kirschner, Jaiden Sherrer, Hailee Sherrer and Dawson Sherrer.
