She was predeceased by: her husband Thomas Battle Griffin; and her siblings, Vivian Davis Waldrop and William Newsome Davis of Goldsboro. She is survived by: her close friend Thomas Battle Griffin; her children, Susan Griffin Montgomery (Robert) of Raleigh, Louise Griffin Belk (Hal) of Cary and Robert Wooten Griffin of Kinston; her grandchildren, Thomas Montgomery, Bryan Montgomery of Raleigh, Carolann Parran (Tripp) of Washington, DC, Julia Griffin of Washington, DC and Ashley Griffin Summey (John); her great grandchild Piper Summey of Wake Forest; her nieces and nephews, Nancy Waldrop Kemeny of London, England, Mary Hugh Waldrop Sears of Hilton Head, SC, Sandra Davis Ehrenkranz of Leesburg, VA, Hunter Davis of El Cajon, CA, Jeffrey Brown of Wake Forest and Noelle Nelson of Kinston; and her friend Ken Meades of Apex. She is also survived by her children, grandchildren and great grandchild.
