She is survived by: her husband Herbert Stephens; her children, Frances Gause of Whiteville, NC and Melvin Stephens, Sr. of University Park; and her grandchildren, Monique, Bridget, Cherelda, Melvin, Mark, Martin, Lora, Gail, Adrian and Zamid. She is also survived by great-great grandchildren, and many cousins.
