He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Coleman Allen and Annie Elliott Allen; his wife Floride Douglas Allen; his siblings, Clarice Powell, Ira Allen and Christine Sibley; and his brother-in-law Harold Douglas.
He is survived by: his children, Mark Allen (Tracy) of Clayton, Michael Allen (Karen) of Garner and Susan Knapp (Geary) of Apex; his grandchildren, Brooke Allen (Bradley Thomas), Sidney Gordon (Brock Gordon), Samuel Allen, Dr. Cary Allen, Laurie Allen (Jacob Duncan), Coleman Allen, Riley Allen, Hannah Hendren, Gavin Knapp and Gabrielle Knapp; his great grandchildren, Nova Thomas and Emery Gordon; and his siblings-in-law, Elaine Douglas, David Douglas (Ruby), Anita Barnstable (Kirk) and Suzanne Hughes (Tim).
