He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Painter and Gladys Skoog; and his son Charles Painter. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Painter; his siblings, Julie Klahn, Charles Painter and Bruce Painter; his son Brad Painter; and his grandchildren, Matthew, Jordan, Brooke and Jake. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
