He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Agnes Gudger Arthurs and James Franklin Arthurs; and his brother Robert. He is survived by: his significant other Sylvia Arthurs; his daughters, Donna Hedgpeth of Sanford and Beverly Cheek (Andy) of Charlotte; his granddaughters, Rachel and Emily Cheek; and his half-siblings, Jimmy, Johnny and Anne.
