She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, John Cyrus McCue and Mary Frost Wilson McCue; her husband William Friend; her brother John Cyrus McCue (Lizzie); her children, Jonathan Friend (Marissa) and Lisa Friend Munns (Tony); and her sister Susan McCue Bush. She was also cherished by her nieces, nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Caryn may be made to Transitions Life Care, 250 Hospice Circle in Raleigh, NC 27607.
