She was predeceased by: her parents, Carmon Marshall and Marjorie Marshall. She is survived by: her husband Alex Nichols; her children, Lexie (Brendan), Robert and David (Stefanie); her grandsons, Bennett and Hudson; and her siblings, Helen and Sandy (Germaine). She is also survived by friends from university and family.

She had a fast friendship of over 40 years with 3 other transplanted Canadian families cemented in regular card games (online during the pandemic), holiday meals, and time spent together.
