He was predeceased by: his mother June Lewis Brown; his mother-in-law Mary Margaret Dunlap Brown; his wife Mary Hammett Brown; and his siblings, Louise Lisk, Floyd Brown, Joyce Wilson and Herman Brown.
He is survived by: his children, Greg Brown (Cathe) of Alexandria and Anita Brown Elks (Dempsey) of Raleigh; his sister Iris Strother of Carthage; and his granddaughter Christine Morris (Charlie) of Alexandria, Virginia. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Fry & Prickett Funeral Home (402 Saunders St, Carthage, NC 28327). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Mount Carmel Church (3925 Old Carthage Rd, Carthage, NC 28327). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Community Building (203 W Barrett St, Carthage, NC 28327).
