It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melvin Green Purvis of Carthage, North Carolina, who passed away on March 13, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Green and Bonnie Phillips Purvis. He is survived by: his wife Judith Essary Purvis; his daughters, Carolyn Lambert (Kelly) and Anna Moore (Tony); his grandchildren, Bryson Lambert (Ashlee Matthews), Grayson Moore, Bonnie Paige Lambert and Bella Moore; and his siblings, Marie P. McFayden (Robert), Larry Purvis (Betty), Jerry Purvis and David Purvis. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
