He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Lineberry Garner and Shula Lewis Garner; his son-in-law Clayton Evans; his siblings, Mabel Daniels, Alma Seward Sharpe, Irene Douglas, Judy Dudley, Jimmy, Paul and Fred; and his siblings-in-law, Bob Daniels, Alfred Seward, Robert Douglas, Tom Sharpe and Nell Garner.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Gibbons Garner; his daughters, Lisa Evans of Cameron and Ramona Whitaker (Keith) of Carthage; his brothers, Darrell Garner (Bonnie) of Bear Creek and Robert Garner (Sybil) of Southern Pines; his grandchildren, Matthew Evans (Stacy), Amanda Evans Criscoe (Nathan), Nolan Evans (Meritte), Jacob Whitaker (Chelsey) and Marissa Whitaker; his great grandchildren, Landon, Chandler, Ella, Camden and Cora; and his sister-in-law Jean Garner. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
