A burial was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery (8220 Bragg Blvd, Spring Lake, NC 28390).

“James came into our lives through the Big Brother Organization in Atlanta, Ga. He became my son's Big Brother over 40 years ago and we have remained in touch and grateful to God for his life. Not only was James an example of what a good Man should be for my son Tyrone Crooks, he also shared his love and guidance with my daughter Lacy when she was very young. His love for Love for God, music, laughter and good food was something that we all embraced. Our heartfelt condolences to his Family. RIH”
