It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Marion Barbee Merritt of Carrboro, North Carolina, born in Durham, North Carolina, who passed away on January 22, 2021, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Margaret Barbee Merritt; his wife Kendra Van Pelt Merritt; his stepson Michael Van Pelt; his brothers, Thomas Merritt (Bobbie), Ronald Merritt (Pat Huff) and Michael Merritt (Vickie Sessions); and his grandparents, Carl, Eleanor Merritt, Paul and Pearl Barbee. He was also cherished by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will have private services to celebrate Marion's life.
