He was predeceased by : his parents, Willie Norwood Cox and Mildred Carr Cox. He is survived by : his brother Oscar Eugene Cox; his wife Molly Ramsey Cox; his daughters, Karen Belle Cox Houston, Diane Gayle Cox Himes (Scott) and Kathy; his grandchildren, Briana Severson, Alex Severson (Tania), Chandler Severson (Sophie), Dylan Houston (Crystal), Cody Houston, Rachael Earnest (Stephen), Nicholas Himes, Lauren Himes, Cameron Himes and Lila Himes; his great grandchildren, Dylan Houston, Jr., Claire Houston, Nathaniel Earnest, Nolan Earnest and Norwood Severson (Woody); his brother John Cox (Dottie); and his sisters-in-law, Mary Cox and Dot Ramsey. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held on Thursday, June 27th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Ocean Drive Presbyterian Church (410 6th Ave S, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29597).
