He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Dewey and Alice Vernon; and his uncle Danny Vernon. He is survived by: his wife Janie James Briggs; his son William Paul Briggs; his stepson Bryan Asbury; and his siblings, Jennie Moody (Mike), Mechille Lowery (Tim) and Shaun Vernon. He is also survived by his mother, five brothers and one sister.
