It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hazel Koontz of Carolina Shores, North Carolina, born in Denmark, South Carolina, who passed away on April 27, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Ashby and Ethel Osteen Turner; her husband Leonard Koontz; and her siblings-in-law, Claude Shuler and Peggy Turner.
She is survived by: her children, Lynne Kay (Chris), Kathy McLauren (AI) and Phillip May; her granddaughters, Allee and Lindsay Mclauren; and her siblings, John D Turner (Judy), Harriett Shuler and Gwen Winn (John).
