Wayland F. Kennedy Sr. Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Wayland F. Kennedy Sr. of Carolina Beach, North Carolina, born in Pinehurst, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 9, 2024 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Alexander Kennedy and Vanesser Hildridge Robson Kennedy; his brother Willie Junebug Kennedy; and his son Justin Kennedy. He is survived by: his children, Wendy (David Moore), Wayland Kennedy, Jr. (Stephanie Doetsch), Dustin Kennedy (Nikita Blumenshine), Ashley (Matt Ibbotson) and Stewart Marciano; his grandchildren, Amanda, Emily, Josh, Justin, River, Elias, Oliver, Maya and Marley; and his sisters, Kathy Black and Janet Buffaloe. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Valley Chapel (4108 College Rd, Wilmington, NC 28412). A memorial service was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any wildlife conservation effort.
