He was predeceased by: his son Nathan. He is survived by: his son Nicholas Hrkman (Roxanne); and his grandchildren, Sarah Miller, Nicole Hrkman, Jordan Hrkman and Gavin Miller.

In Lieu of any flowers, the family ask that a donation is made to the UNC REX Cancer Center Angel Fund.
