He is survived by: his parents, Johnnie Stewart and Sadie Elizabeth Honeycutt Carpenter; his wife Linda Carpenter; his children, Candace Marie Kort (Brent) of Peletier and Timothy James Carpenter, II; his grandchildren, Caleb Carpenter, Kyle Kort, Maddy, Sadie and Abby Grace Carpenter; and his siblings, John Carpenter (Helen) of Newport News, VA, Dan Carpenter (Judy) of Forest City, NC, Chris Carpenter of Mt, Judy Henderson of Belmont, NC and Sherry Walker of Simpsonville, SC. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Silver Creek Original Free Will Baptist Church Youth fund or Building Fund, 518 Peletier Loop Rd., Cape Carteret, NC 28584.
