He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Rutherford and Thelma Wright Rutherford; and his brother Tom Rutherford. He is survived by: his wife Jerrie Shook Rutherford; his sons, Dr. Gregory Rutherford of Candler, Brian Rutherford (Jill) of Candler and Kyle Rutherford of Candler; his grandchildren, Daniel Rutherford, Candace Paden (Jesse), Payton Fabio (Tyler) and Luke Rutherford (Micah); and his great grandchildren, Amelia, Iris, Lincoln, Cooper and Farrah.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Snow Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery Maintenance Fund, 84 Snow Hill Church Road, Candler, NC 28715.
