With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ruby Jones Knight of Canton, North Carolina, who passed away on January 13, 2025 at the age of 99. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Ruby Jones may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Dorothy Whitmire Jones and John Paul Jones of Canton, NC.; and her brother Curtis Jones of Hephzibah, GA.. She is survived by: her children, Edward H. Knight, Jr. and Ann Knight Ashley (Matt) of Montreat, NC; and her siblings, Helen Jones Burch of Clyde, NC, Coleen Jones Howery of Newton, NC and Locke Jones of Canton, NC.. She is also survived by three grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Black Mountain United Methodist Church (101 Church St, Black Mountain, NC 28711).
