Rose Mathews Obituary
We are sad to announce that on April 6, 2025, at the age of 97, Rose Mathews (Canton, North Carolina) passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Rose Mathews to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Irvin Thearle and Katherine Thearle; and her sister June Whaley of Decatur, Tennessee.. She is survived by: her children, Ronald Mathews of Candler, Claudia Flickinger of Waynesville, Marsha Donaldson (Mike) of Canton and Hugh Mathews (Darlene) of Canton; and her grandchildren, Tanya Carver, Steven Flickinger, Mark Flickinger, Misty Trantham, Lindsey Hipps, Mickey Mathews, Penny Mathews, Megan Towe and Travis Donaldson. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home (3715 Asheville Hwy, Canton, NC 28716). A memorial service was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sarges Animal Rescue.
