He is survived by: his wife Anita Sutton Parks; his children, Abby Moore (Doug) of Murphy, Vikki Cagle, Bridgitt Foster (Tim) of Hendersonville and Michael Parks of Waynesville; his sisters, Mary Sue Edwards (Kyle) of Maggie Valley and Cheryl Gunter (Johnny) of Waynesville; and his sister-in-law Marie Parks of Waynesville. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great -grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Antioch Baptist Church (542 Iron Duff Rd, Waynesville, NC 28785). The military honors was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be made in Gene's memory to Antioch Baptist Church, Brotherhood Program, 542 Iron Duff Road.
