He was predeceased by: his parents, Reverend Tom Erwin and Maggie Long Erwin; and his siblings, Troy, Harmon Erwin and Grace Lane.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Medford Erwin; his children, Paula Crowe of Canton, Sue Morgan (Frank) of Canton, Janne Hyde of Lake Junaluska, Patricia Blaylock of Canton, Myra Stone (James) of Canton and John Mark Erwin (Teresa) of Canton; and his grandchildren, Nathan, Ira, Joshua, Paul, Wesley, Olivia, Christy, Cassie and Melody. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
