She was predeceased by: her parents, Alfred Lawson Gosnell and Leona Ford Gosnell; her husband Hilliard McGee; her daughter Cathy Baird; and her granddaughter Revonda Trull.
She is survived by: her sons, Zeb McGee (Danielle) of Canton, NC, Tracy McGee (Christy) of Canton, NC and Stacy McGee (Lilly) of Canton, NC; her sister Joann Stamey; and her grandchildren, Charity, Chris and Natalie. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, it was Ruth's wish that memorials be made to Rescue Baptist Church, 27 Beaverdam Street, Canton, NC 28716.
