He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Alexander and Ida Mae Green MacNichol; and his brother Bernard MacNichol. He is survived by: his wife Diane MacNichol; his children, Heidi Lord (Curt) of Florida, Scott MacNichol (Lisa) of Florida, Tim Hancock (Joleen) of Canton and Matthew Kekllas of Canton; and his siblings, Vickie Sundell (David) and Ron MacNichol. He is also survived by four grandchildren.
